Who We Are

Marcus A. Ross (pictured right) began his career as an Assistant City Prosecutor for the Criminal Division of the City Attorney’s Office in 1997. During his tenure, Marcus handled numerous bench trials and jury trials on traffic, criminal and OVI/DUI cases. Marcus has over 20 years experience handling misdemeanor and felony criminal matters in Columbus, the central Ohio metropolitan area and throughout the State of Ohio. Marcus has also practiced extensively in Mayor’s Courts in Franklin and adjacent counties. ​​

Marcus A. Ross Attorney at Law, LPA was established in 2007, with a dedicated law practice in criminal, traffic and OVI/DUI defense.

In addition to his criminal defense practice, Marcus has developed Of Counsel relationships with one of central Ohio’s premier law firms Walton & Brown, which has a proven track record of success in a wide variety of practice areas. He also frequently serves as co-counsel with Philip King, whose specific areas of practice are Probate, Estate Planning, Guardianships and Legal Ethics.

Marcus is a graduate of Hampton University, The Ohio State University and Capital University Law School. He has been licensed as a member of the Ohio State Bar since 1997. He was also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio in 2004, the Northern District of Ohio in 2006 and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in 2015.​​

Marcus is a member of the John Mercer Langston Bar Association, the Columbus Bar Association, the Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Ohio State Bar Association. In his spare time Marcus enjoys traveling, attending sporting events and spending time with family and friends. Marcus is a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and a faithful member of Christian Valley Missionary Baptist Church.
